I created BlackChildBooks.com because I know, as a black psychologist, the immense benefit to early self image that comes when children and teens see people like themselves and their families reflected in the stories they read. Parents talked to me about the difficulty of shopping through Amazon because the collection seemed scattered, and I saw a need for a uniftied, comprehensive listing in one place of black children's books on Amazon. I am pleased that I have pulled all these books together in an organized way.
